Criminal Defense Attorney Kayla A. Marshall is a native to Central Florida and is dedicated to serving her Central Florida community.  Ms. Marshall is committed to fighting for justice, achieving excellent results for her clients, and fostering client relationships.

Ms. Marshall graduated a year ahead of her class from Florida State University with a degree in Business Management.  Embracing her desire to build her career in Central Florida and to remain close to family, she accepted an academic scholarship to attend Barry University School of Law and earned a Juris Doctor.

While earning her law degree, Ms. Marshall excelled academically while also holding many leadership roles.  She was elected treasurer of Phi Alpha Delta, by which her efforts were nominated and recognized nationally as a recipient of the Dalphine MacMillan Outstanding Treasurer Award, honoring the country’s best Phi Alpha Delta treasurer.  In addition, she was elected treasurer of the Student Bar Association; historian of the Women’s Lawyers Association; event coordinator of the American Constitutional Society; a member of the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers; and a member of the Counsel for Children.  In addition, Ms. Marshall interned at numerous law firms, as well as served as a judicial clerk for the circuit judges in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Seminole County.  Most notably, she participated in the State of Florida v. George Zimmerman trial under The Honorable Debra S. Nelson.  This experience ignited and defined her passion for criminal justice.

Ms. Marshall has also worked in a variety of civil law firms ranging from personal injury litigation, family law, workers compensation law, federal practice in bankruptcy law, and commercial, construction, coverage and insurance defense litigation.  In addition, she served in the legal department at the Orange County Property Appraiser’s Office, by which she gained experience in ad valorem tax law, homestead, exemptions, and tangible personal property.  She also has a background in real estate and earned a Real Estate Sales Associate License.

Aside from law, Ms. Marshall is dedicated to her community involvement with the Harbor House of Central Florida, enjoying time with family, and maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.
